FYI, this is a feed of relevant blog posts.
My name is Tim and I spend my time pretending to be studious at the University of York in the UK which is usually fairly pleasant but sometimes quite a lot like hard work. Outside of Yorkshire and occasional jaunts to The South where I hail from, you can find me in various guises on the interwebs, as listed…on one of the sides somewhere.
I share a little house with some awesome guys which is sometimes a bit chaotic but there’s always good banter. Come the weekend you’ll often find us tearing Bobo Lobo’s up in the small hours – or equally curled up on the sofa watching 30 Rock or Gavin & Stacey. Good times.
I go to St Michael Le Belfrey Church in York which is the (comparatively small but actually very large) church next to the Minster. I even play bass at the evening service sometimes which is great fun and something I’m quite passionate about. [edit: can you be 'quite' passionate about something?] I’m also involved with Conversations which is a congregation of St Mike’s which meets upsatirs at the Pitcher & Piano in York on Wednesdays at 1930. You should come!
Imagine all of the reasons that you’d never go to church – well, it’s none of those.
Conversations consists of friendship over drinks, a thought provoking short talk and some discssion and the odd song. It isn’t dull or repetitive, judgemental or confusing. It’s almost like Christians managing to be normal people. Send me a message if you want to come along and see what we’re about. I might even buy you a pint.
I have a secret appreciation of photography and occasionally I manage produce some fairly appealing pictures. Having not had the funds to acquire a decent camera lately, this has been a bit on the back burner. If I ever manage to rectify this situation, I might just put some shots up here. Problem is, I know to many people who are much better than me!
I’m getting ever closer to finishing my Economics & Finance degree and to tell you the truth, I can’t wait. I’m really looking forward to being a ‘real person’ with a job and house and occasionally some money! Having said that, I’m not really sure what I’m going to do – so suggestions appreciated I guess! I currently work part time in an office not far from where I live, where I pimp out my (apparently quite substantial) Excel skillz. Need an awesome spread sheet knocking up? I’ll totally do it. You can pay me in cooked meals which I am totally lacking in.
Other than that I guess this whole place is about me to some degree (having no other area of expertise) so if you’re really that interested, read on…
